We stayed there last April as a timeshare promo freebie - there was no pressure at all to attend a promotion, if fact we never did, not through avoiding it but it just didn't happen. The location is wonderful, on one of the few remaining bits of beach in Candi Dasa, a short stroll to restaurants etc if you prefer not to eat in the hotel. Plenty of vehicle/driver rental options of course.

It's run mainly by a friendly, but not intrusive, extended English family. The promotions guy, Ken, and his Balinese wife live in Perth when they're not in Bali. Graham the dive guy is recently married to Singaporean Elaine, who takes care of reservations & there are other rellies, including a grandfather. There is also a lovely golden retriever dog. The family atmosphere is pleasant.

I recently got a letter from BSBC saying the rooftop bar, restaurant, jacuzzi has been finished (the views are magnificent from the roof) & they have a new 10 metre glass bottomed boat (WITH toilet facilities, no less!!). The rooms have a kitchen area with toaster, microwave, kettle but the power supply is so weak that I wouldn't rely on using them.

Bali Shangrila is a most delightful small place in a spectacular location. You've got a great offer & I envy you. A dear friend & her hubby own a timeshare there & wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

If you decide to take up the offer, ask for Room 15 at the front.
