not things we possess.
Children need memories. Many children do the same thing ev erydaqy for years. Having someone visit and stay, paying them some extra attention, would be a good memory for them. stayed in a village in Tempaksiring for a week (teaching English). When I returned I couldn't believe how excited the children were. They remembered everything. The little games we played etc.
If you have been to the schools you would know the thrill the children get from perfoming their dances, singing their songs. They are so proud. You couldn't imaging the excitement in the playground. I recently visited my sponsor children. It was a last minute decision so I arrived unjanounced. I nearly cried when Gek opened the door. The look of excitement on her little face as she ran to hug me. That is a gift to me. Better than any gift I have received.

Sure, a book might last a few years but memories are forever.
