Hardly. Your child would already have your support, which is more than they had previously.
When we first started our first project, everything was costed out in US$ as is common in Bali. At the time, that equated to AUD$108. We rounded it out to AUD$110. Since that time, the exchange rate has been favourable to us, plus the economy of scale in our purchasing has meant we have a small amount left over from each sponsorship. Multiply that by 400 times and it allows us to provide things like libraries, new toilet blocks, and clean piped water. These facilities are there for all students and teachers to benefit from, not only now but also into the future, irrespective of whether you visit or not.
A lot of sponsors provide educational & sporting equipment for all the school to utilize instead of only for their special child. Not all visit, and not all who do offer gifts. Some children are "gifted", some not so (pardon the pun), unfortunately, that's life.
Cheers
