We recently discovered an orphanage in Bali called Anak Anak, or BaliKids. If you have a look at the website www.carryforkids.org you will see that this organisation support orphanages in various countries including Bali. On our last trip we visited Anak Anak and it was a fabulous experience, and something we will do on every trip. Carry For Kids encourage tourists to carry various items from their home countries that may be hard to get in various locations. Each separate orphanage has a wishlist on the website which shows items that are currently required. Anak Anak has two sides, one is a hospital and mobile medical team which visit various orphanages around Bali, and then they also have an orphanage with about 16-20 kids aged up to around 16. We were encouraged to visit and have a look at the set up and meet the kids. It was an amazing experience and the two 18 yr old boys we took with us said it was one of the highlights of their holiday and they were first timers to Bali. The staff at Anak Anak do a fabulous job with all the children and this was evident in how happy all the chilren were.
I highly recommend this to anyone going to Bali.
