Rotto:
White white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, no hawkers, spend hours on a deserted beach within 20mins bike ride from your accom and see no-one all day, stand under the lighthouse at night - awesome, watching the waves roll in at West End with the sun shining through and the colours go from deepest blue to palest green, leave your bags outside your house and they turn up in Fremantle off the ferry and no-one has stolen them, sleep with your door unlocked and forget what the sound of traffic is.

Bali: and may I qualify this as NOT being Kuta/Legian/Seminyak
The smell of incense and watching young women make the morning prayer, gentle smiling people who seem never to have to shout at their kids (well not in public!), exotic and beautiful landscapes, being able to experience the life of the wealthy if only for a week or two, long balmy evenings by the pool/beach, after just one day you are walking slower - talking slower - ahhh Bali time.

Two quite different, beautiful and unique places and cannot be compared.
