Yes Randsurfer a social visa does require a sponsor who is indonesian or someone who has a KITAS card, I always get a sponsor letter plus copy of indonesian ID and family card from my sponsor. for a 60 day visa there is not need for a sponsor this is only needed for a social visa application which in fact is for 60 days extendable each month in bali for a total of 6 month. so sorry i did not appear to be clear enough on my last post
