I have had these done plenty of times and they aren't that hard to get out, just cut the ends (or closest to the ends of your hair)and undo them i use a spray in conditioner to make it easier. If you go to the hairdresser they will probably only do the same thing. Make sure you have a treatment handy to put in your hair after taking them out it will make your hair feel normal again. I have kept mine in for about 2 months if they start to grow out at the top just get a wide head band to cover it.
