SIM CARD Has anyone tried to top up their sim card while back in Australia?

I received an sms from testra saying enjoy your holiday so i am wondering if it can be kept active while in Australia. Would it be a cheap way to phone our Bali friends??

I am curious if anyone else here has tried this?

If not my last resort would be to offer the sim card to anyone who would appreciate it but they would have to be going soon as i am not sure how long it will last registered. I am happy to post it anywhere in Australia(sorry overseas people)
