I stayed at the Jayakarta in 2005. There was a dude on the beach named Reggie iirc. He had a tourist licence etc so was leggit. Anyhow he orginised a snorkling trip to the Gili's for me and my dad. Boat trip from Senngigi beach. It worked out heaps cheaper than ehat the hotel tourist office was offering it to us. Plus it was a direct trip instead of going through Bangsal harbour - which I heard was full of scam artists.
