Rocha I work with Indonesian Furniture here in Bunbury and I have seen this problem you are talking about. It will almost definately be borer dust and so you should contact the company you bought it from and ask them what they are prepared to do about it.All timber furniture has to be fumigated as it enters Australia however we had an instance where a buffet had borer in it and we paid for it to be re - fumigated in Perth. In a similar instance I brought back a lovely carved jewellery box from Geneva and at customs they thought it looked a bit suss but allowed me to bring it in warning me to check for the powder/dust ( which they told me is the excrement from the borer !!), when I did find this some time later I contcted Aquis and they took it and had it fumigated free of charge. So this is another option if you dont have any luck with the shop you bought your furniture from. I hope this helps.I wouldnt reccommend throwing your furniture out as I am sure it will have the borer still in it.I was also told by customs that Borer can lay dormant for 17 years !!
