An immersion heater is like just the element of a kettle. I think these days they come in all different shapes sizes etc. In the old days you would plug it in and stick the element in the bath to get it hot!! Now I think they make small ones to stick in a mug for coffee soup etc. Probably handy if you want a cuppa or amybe even for heating water for baby bottle. We buy cheap plastic kettle from bintang supermarket for making the odd hours cuppas.! Sorry don't know where or how much. Deb
