Thank you for all your views and comments. I really enjoyed reading them all! I know that Jetstar is not really a low-cost airline and that it is unfair to compare it to the situation here in Europe. Some say we have way to many airlines operating and this may be true, at least when we are considering the pollution and environemntal damages.
I just wanted to point out that it is good to have a choice. For a long time here in Norway, Scandinavian Airlines had a monopoly on flying to northern Norway. Then a full-fare ticket to the northern parts, (check a map and see how long my country is), would cost way more than a return ticket to Bali. Now we have another airline operating side by side, and now it may be cheaper to fly than take the bus.
I have family in Caloundra and would welcome news of Jetstar starting to fly Denpasar-Brisbane. If they would come out the cheapest, I would fly with them. Simple as that! I hope Tiger Airways and Air Asia also will expand their routenetwork to Australia.
I wish you all a great day and to you Australians: You live in one of the best countries in the world! (At least from a multiple-visitors view).
