I notice a couple of posts down someone saying they've decided to go "cheap" and was happy with the many suggestions they received on this forum, so I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and ask you all for some suggestions.

My partner and I are heading back in August for my 6th and his 4th trip. We usually stay at Resor Seminyak as we love the area, the hotel and the surrounding restaurants. However this time we are taking a newbie who is on a budget, so we've decided to stay somewhere cheaper so as not to blow his budget.

My requirements would be - hot and cold water, air-con, safety deposit box, tele (so we can watch DVDs at night), pool. Preferably in Legian as I think smack bang in the heart of Kuta might not be suitable for our friend. I am 42, my partner 50 and the newbie 52. I've done the Kuta party thing in my youth, now we just like to relax, shop, eat and swim.

Looking at between $30-$40 a night. On the beach would be great but I realise I might be pushing it for that money.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Leanne
