Amongst about 100 other things, I would say you haven't seen Bali until you've been to Kintamani and into the crater of the Mt Batur volcano (about a 2 hour drive from Nusa). It is amasing!!! We go there everytime we visit Bali (11 times so far). You can do a walk up to the top of the volcano (takes a few hours) and hopefully see the lava. You can cook bananas and eggs in the heat of the ground up on the volcano. We have stayed in a hotel at the top (can't remember it's name). The hotel isn't that great but the view is spectacular. In the morning you wake up and when you look into the crater of the volcano (the crater is 5km wide) you can see the clouds a few hundred metres below you. It's absolutely breath taking !!!!

Yes, you can change your US dollars in Bali at any of the hundreds of Money Changers (they are everywhere). I'd probably do it in Bali as I think the rate will be better than in the US. Just count your money carefully and go to a reputable Changer. If you take Travellers Cheques you'll get a lower rate.

Have fun, you will love it !!!
