If you are sponsoring a child thru Helen then I expect you will be visiting the Lovina area. Rambutan Cpttages in Kalibukbuk is ideal, for quiet time, with or without your children.
If you are sponsoring thru Rotary, then its an easy day trip from Legian/Kuta/Tuban area.
Since we had 'found' Ubud, rather than passing thru have been enjoying a few days at Tegal Sari. There are no ideal family rooms but the super deluxe are lovely.
Lots from the BTF enjoy Kumala Pantai and Jayakarta in Legian.
Maybe even in the Tuban area, check out Dynasty for family holiday. It has kids club. Try Kartika Plaza or Santika in Tuban.
Sanur is far quieter and has lots of beachfront hotels to choose from.
We find these days that we spent 4 or 5 days in different hotels in various locations around Bali and feel like we have had 3 or 4 differnt holidays. Each area has something different to offer.
