I won't be doing a day by day summary as I am not that organised and didn't write down what we did each day, so it will basically be a summary of some of the things we did.
Eating
As it is most important to please Mr 14 we ate at various places and his bill was the largest of the 3 of us.
The favorite was Taman Sari in Poppies 2, we went there twice and would have gone ther more if it was closer, Mr 14 loved the
Seafood Mornay and at 55,000rp it was great value. You also get a cold towel on arrival and a pre dinner drink of arak and orange in a shot glass for adults and orange juice for kids.
Legian Gardens was a bit of a dissappointment this time, we went there after trying to get into the Bali Aussie for the roast
on a Sunday night but it was full. The meal was OK but the place was nearly empty, it seems to have lost something since last time.
Seaside Restaurant which is next to Kumala Pantai on the beach was very nice, not so cheap but compared to a couple of onther places I went to it was good value, and the setting is very nice.
Stadium Cafe had the nicest Nasi Goreng I have tasted, not overly cheap but service was great the the guys that work in the place loved beating Mr 14 at pool all the time.
Indo National, the kids and I enjoyed our meal, we went there twice. Milton and Kerry were great hosts and remembered that
Miss 10 had a bad reaction to peanuts there 18 months ago and they made really sure that what she ordered didn't have peanuts. The new location is twice as big as the old place and on the last night we were there it was full and had people waiting.
Maccaroni, overrated, overpriced. The food was nice, but not big portions, the drinks were very expensive, for the 3 of us the bill was over $50, and I only had and entree and Miss 10 had a bowl of chips. You pay for the ambience.
Tao in Benoa, very nice food, beautiful setting, super expensive, that meal cost us about $60 and again I only had soup, Mr 14 had 2 courses, I had a few arak madus. There is an Australian Manager who is very friendly and you may swim in the pool if you want to, they supply towels.
Enhays Cafe (near Adhi Dharma) very cheap meals, nice food, service is a bit slack, but well worth a visit.
Febri's, was great except that the mosquitos were terrible, we all had repellant on and there were coils under every table but it didn't stop the mosquito halo from happening. The Crab corn soup was superb.
Black Canyon in Discovery Mall is a coffee lovers dream, I can't drink much "hot" coffee when in Bali, so I just reverted to drinking Black Canyon Iced Coffees, as Discovery is next door to the BGH, I ususally had one every day, and when I learnt you could get takeaway, I was in heaven.
Some of the best food I had was at Waterbom Park, their Satays and BBQ corn is to die for, I am missing them now so much.
Being next door to Discovery was great, Mr 14 regulary went to get either Breadtalk muffins or Krispy Kremes.
More to come!
