Took off on Jetstar an hour late (forever known as Picnic

Airlines) on January 9th with my two kids a boy aged 14

and a girl aged 10 for 18 days of bliss (well sort of)

Shared the flight with Whoopee and her family, Whoopees

margaritas went down a treat for the first few hours of

the flight we then reverted to buying wine on the flight.

I had pre purchased meals and to tell you the truth they

were crap, was glad that Whoopee had the forsight to

bring some sushi on board.

The DVD players they give out were great for the kids, I

didn't use mine as I was chatting for most of the flight.

We landed about 30 mins late and our family had a stress

free encounter with Immigrasi and Customs. I had booked

my usual driver Dewa Priwata to take us to the BGH so we

proceeded outside to be greeted by Dewa, then we waited.

Whoopee and co had the dreaded cross on their bag and

were searched, but they finally made it outside. We

picked up 2 strays from the flight that didn't have

transfers and they hopped on board as well.

Got to BGH, it was late but just being in Bali made the

adrenalin pump, I was home!

Whoopee and Co had a room next to us so I joined them for

another drink while the kids ran down for their first

swim. Got to bed at about midnight which was 3am Melb

time.

Woke the next morning at about 5am, the kids were still

asleep so as soon as it was daylight I went for a walk

down to the beach, it was so peaceful and nice a cool, I

wandered back and the kids woke early and we headed for

breakfast.

Much has been said about the breakfasts at BGH, however

for myself and the kids it was fine. My 14 year old was

happy with 2 omelettes and 2 pancakes and french toast

with tomato ketchup for breakfast most days. I am not a

big eater, so the fruit and toast was fine, I had a fried

egg occasionally, and my 10 year old is a finiky eater so

nothing will ever please her.

The lady that cooks the eggs is always so cheerful, and

you notice the difference when she is not there.

First day we basically went and bourght some supplies

from Matahari, and got sim cards from the guy out the

front of Matahari.

More to follow!
