With 2 adults and 3 children, the older suite rooms will be too crowded - especially if you were planning on putting the children in the front partitioned off section. There would be room for 2 kids there, but even that would be cramped - no way you'd fit 3.

I'd suggest 2 superior rooms for sure.

Standard rooms are closest to the road (furthest from the beach) and do not have balconies. Aside from that the room is very similar in size and layout to superior. They're a fair distance to the pools too, so not convenient if kids want to swim all the time and need you to supervise.

Old superior rooms overlook the old pool. New superior rooms overlook the new donut shaped pool. I don't know exact room numbers, but they tend to alternate double, twin, double, twin etc. I'm not sure about triple rooms or if they just put a rollaway bed in a twin room. There's plenty of room to do that as the rooms have a sitting area with lounge and coffee table etc. There's also table and two chairs on the balconies.

Old superior rooms are not as close to the old pool as the new superior rooms are with the new pool - if that makes sense. The old ones tend to sit a bit further back and I'm not sure that you could see the pool clearly from there. From memory there's also quite a big garden between the rooms and the pool that would block the view (but add some privacy as this pool gets busy when the hotel is full).

If you want superior rooms, I'd recommend booking them here. They tend to fill up quicker than the other types. You'd have an easier time upgrading from superior to deluxe or suite than from standard to superior. All travel agents I've spoken to have said Bali bookings are picking up again. You could take your chance, but it's not somethign I'd do. The hotel doesn't do discount rates so it would cost you more to upgrade there, rather than just book the superior here anyway.
