Sorry I will be in Thailand in May this year.
I dont know about "a lousy 200 bucks" to me that is a fair slice off a "normal" airfare, but obviously yes it is a valid point that if there was to be one only carrier to bali, garuda or otherwise, prices would skyrocket, personally i dont think it is likely to get down to that as I think there will be other airlines to take up any slack, providing our government allowed them of course, ie air paradise, possibly air asia and maybe tiger air.
The very fact that it/they are a budget airline will to some degree mean loosing out on some "service" which of course has to be weighed against any savings and of course EVERY AIRLINE IN THE WORLD HAS HAD DELAYS OF VARIOUS LENGHTS OF TIME depending on what the problem actually was,ie heathrow airport recently stopped ALL domestic flights for 3 days because of fog and i would say that NO airline has one or more aircraft just sitting there waiting in case of a problem with another aircraft, so unfortunately people just have to grin and bear it.
happy new year to you and yours also.
