a few years back on a Garuda flight while waiting for take off I noticed several foot priints on the wing from the service crew. I always imagined aircraft service crews to be in white overalls and softsoled boots etc but these were FOOT prints, it changed my whole perspective of who was actually working on the aircraft and the quality of workmanship.I now envisige some poor bali guy with a hammer and chisel on 50c an hour working on the aircraft and moonlighting at a mechanics workshop in denpasar.
funny how the little things can change your outlook, so now I always see any holdup with the plane as a sign that at least someone is taking a bit of care, and if thats spotted by the bare foot mechanic then it gotta be worth fixing.
Cheers G&M
