We have stayed here twice - back in 98 and 99 when it was Patra Jasa and loved it then. I actually quite like the location - just that little bit away from all the action. We had what was then called a Deluxe Room No 211 which was a bedroom and living area on the southern end beachfront. I had a quick lookaround a couple of years ago while renovations were underway and I think they now call these rooms Deluxe Suites. We are with our 17 year old son so the extra living area gives us all a bit more space and privacy. Otherwise I would be looking at booking two rooms wherever we stay as it is starting to get a bit cramped using a rollaway bed.
We have stayed at Rama Beach Resort the last 6 times - which is nearly opposite Bali Hai. We just love this place but hubby thought he would like to go back to a beachfront property for our next trip. A family room at Bali Hai is also an option but appears to be more expensive than a deluxe suite at Patra. Hubby likes the location of Patra because he surfs the reef and he also doesn't mind the look and location of Discovery Kartika. We may even split between the two even though packing up to move a little up the road is always a hassle. Decisions decisions.
Did you book your room direct? Tried emailing Patra but it bounced back saying their inbox is full. I know they are having a few internet problems over there but Bali Hai were quick in responding no problems.
