I have used asiarooms with no problems and I'm going to use them again soon for a hotel in Thailand next year. I do my homework and find them miles cheaper than other websites. You do have to pay immediately when the booking is confirmed. However, I hear they block your credit card as soon as you book until confirmation is given... this is probably so you don't go shopping in the meantime (don't really know. I'm just guessing :-)
Asiarooms is a locked site but I wouldn't use a credit card over the internet if you don't have a firewall on your computer.
