and a past Bali freak, I think the best thing about Bali is the fact that you can have the freedom to enjoy a nice cold beer with a smoke in the most "open aired" pubs and restaurants. As for lung cancer and smoking, well, eat too many cows, or run around the block 10 times a day, visit the gym 12 times a week, live on just mangoes, drink fat free water, raise 3 kids and work to build yourself a 2 bedroom shack in the middle of the suburbs, and you still have the ++ % risk of dying at the age of 40 from some form of cancer, as we are all born with it, and in some of us it multiplies its form... and if smoking hits the lungs and throat, then making love will hit your ovaries or what not (if you get my drift). Sad but true fact, that even the healthiest of most of us will die from some form of cancer, and there is always an excessive factor that will be blamed. If the Indo govt took 5 minutes to look at the welfare of it's people, maybe they would have some form of benefit, as in Oz, whereby a widow will receive compensation etc to feed her kids. Great that you are looking at a rather small aspect of their health dramas, but even Thailand has it's people starving, but at least they aren't smoking!
Sorry I can't support your post. It's just Bali that makes it Bali! Sampoerna and all!
