On the 19th is Nypei Day where there is total silence and you must stay in your hotel. Prior to this there are many ceremonies and processions. During this time many places are closed and travel is VERY slow if you get stuck behind them. The day after Nypei everything starts to return to normal with many villagers coming back down into Kuta to resume work. I would plan to do little driving during this time and have nice accomodation booked for Nypei Day itself. Apart from that your plan sounds great and is very easy to do yourself. You can buy a roadbook at Bintang supermarket which is pretty good and should be all you need to get around.
The weather is usually pretty good. Mostly short showers in the afternoon so a handy drink break. Enjoy your travels.
