Yes you are right, i was apprehensive as well but although the muslim people I met were conservative at first, the next day they could not do enough for me, even the nurses at the hospital had drawn a little map for me to find coffee on the street. I did have a skirt on for once, but had not covered my shoulders, it was too hot and I had just jumped off the bus to go directly to hospital. I think they were happy because I had travelled so far to give support to a local person. I found the majority well educated and gentle, and wanting me to see more of Jawa. Are you going again soon , to Indonesia, maybe we could meet up. Thanks for all the info.
