Hi,
My name is jason and i have type 1, insulin dependant diabetes. i have been to bali 4 times since i was diagnosed with diabetes. each time i have had no problems with customs regarding needles or medication or anything...and as others have noted i found it easier to controll my diabetes while in bali....might be a good excuse to keep going back or to live there!!!!
anyway i am heading back to bali early next year. the main difference this time is that it will be my first time travelling since i started on my insulin pump. i was just wondering if any other diabetics with insulin pumps have been to bali, and their expereinces. for instance did customs or security at the ariport notice the pump or question you about it?? especially seen as i have been told that you now get frisked before getting on the plane.
i always carry a letter from my doctor but have noticed that some people have said they get their letter translated by the indonesian consulate, is this worthwhile doing??
thanks in advance
jase.
