It will make so little difference, it's actually a good idea to change your money there until you familiarise yourself with it. Also remember, when you change your money on the street, to count it carefully and make sure you haven't been short-changed before you hand over your Aussie dollars (or whatever your home currency is). Some money changers have become expert at sleight of hand, and will rip you off to the tune of quite a few thousand rupiah.
