you mentioned rats at the bali garden as I haven't seen any there in my stay, but have stayed at the grand mirage with all my family and relatives and have never seen so many rats in Bali before. There was one in our room at the grand mirage and while sitting on the balcony to watch the sun rise in the mornings there would be rats scampering across the lawns and in the gardens everywhere. Agree that the grand mirage is lovely though. Just wondering if all the prices of things in restaurants and bars is still priced in US dollars, as it was when we stayed there several years ago, and do you know if the lady named Arwati still works at the Grand Mirage? - She used to run the kids club there and is a lovely person.
Sounds like you had a lovely holiday and agree that next time you definately should do the lower budget hotel before moving on to a high rated resort, as it's an instant upgrade in itself.
