Hello tom_jane,

The Besakih has 80 rooms, some being hotel style and others bungalows. The best rooms to stay in are bungalows 220-226, with 225 & 226 being adjoining, so good for familys or a few friends.

They are building 2 more bungalows closer to the pool/restaurant area which look like they will be very nice indeed when finished.

The hotel has been operating for many years. They have just refurbished their restaurant which is right on the beach and is heaven to eat breakfast (which is delicious) at in the morning and look out over that lovely beach. Their pool is right on the walkway along the beach with the water cascading down over a wall. So you can lean over the wall while in the pool and watch the world go by as well as the surf and very occasionaly if its a clear day you can see Mt Agung from the pool as well.

The gardens are very well kept. They have a resident dog and 2 turtles. My grandaughter would feed them all every morning with her breakfast she kept for them.

Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. My grandaughter gets eaten alive with mossies so they were spraying our room every afternoon. We didnt ask them to do it, one of the staff had seen her bites and so they wanted to protect her which was a very nice gesture.

The restaurants along the beach to the left are all very good. Kami Sama is the first you come to and they are just great with very cheap prices.

At the front of the hotel across the road they have lots of great places with Lasers Sports Bar being a great place for a drink and listen to live music every night. The Zoo is quite good, if nothing else it is nice just to sit and have an iced cappuccino in the air conditioning. To the right of Lasers a couple up is a really nice place to eat, all outside but cant remember name. Gateway to India is a bemo ride left up the street.

Hardys supermarket is up the road a way to the left. Easier to hop on a bemo (little beat up green van) and get a lift. They have to supermarket on the ground floor and also a couple of floors of clothing and homewares. And you have Circle K to the right of the hotel and a very small walk.

Sanur hasnt changed any in 2 years apart from being very quiet.

Hope you enjoy your holiday

Cheers
Robyn
