- on the west side of the island are the sunrises on the east side. They just come at a damned inconvenient time although I have heard that the time passes nicely with a cold bottle of champagne and a companion (or two).
Best to go where the crowds don't I think.
Rice fields around Jatiluwih, south west of Lake Bratan/Bedugul, are amongst the best, others north and east of Ubud in the steep valleys at the road side are also good.
Clouds, mist, rain in the forests of the central mountains are very atmospheric.
Smaller temples like Batukaru near Jatiluwih, Mengwi, or Rambut Siwi on the south west coast where you can get down into the caves on the beach.
The fishing village at the end of the Benoa Peninsula.
The Bali Aga village of Tengannan near Candi Dasa.
