think that may not completely be the case these days.A number of people have reported receiving phone calls in their rooms re winning prizes & time share. When they asked the caller where he got their details from " Immigration " was the reply.Seems as if some one may be trying to make a few extra rupiah by selling this information.
I am not interested in time share or ever have been & I do get frustrated at times with people who are right in your face about it on the streets but they are only trying to make a living. When you know the money they can earn for a tourist just going to a presentation let alone buying into timeshare - who can really blame them.
I was once stopped by a person re time share as I was going into a Circle K store in Legian. They started talking & I said I wasn't at all interested & went to go into the shop.I bought the 2 of us an ice cream & it ended up he knew a lot of my friends so we chatted for about 1/2 hour about 101 different things.
As tourists we get fed up with the time shares touts but everyone has to earn money to feed themselves & their families. In saying that I must add that I would certainly be peed off though if I was woken by phone calls to my room at 6am ! I also think it's a bit of a con re appraisals of restaurants turning out to be time share leads.
