You were probably in contact with a rove beetle. Very small bug that actually looks nothing like a beetle at all. It does look like a cross between an ant and a scorpion. It is black with orange segments. Anyway the beetle does not bite or sting but does exude a fluid when you get it on your skin. You will feel nothing at the time! About 2-3 days later you will have what appears to be a blister or a burn that eventually crusts over. Many times the blister appears like a line. There is nothing to do but wait the four days or so for the blister to go away. We have used talc powder with some success but the important thing is not to scratch it and get a secondary infection. The rove beetle comes out at night and is attracted to lights. It does fly but most of the time crawls.
