Jbr 9...Other things

We went along to Bisma Printing, thanks Bali Rocks for the recommendation. Lena got prices for printed plastic bags, printed material recycle bags and printed tags for sewing in clothes. I got prices for printing brochures and printing bags. All prices are about half of Australian. The big problem is weight and the minimum amount needed to be ordered. This would have to be done either when sending cargo back or when you had kids with you and you could use their luggage allowance!

We went to Matahari, Ramayana and Robinson's in Denpasar. All large local department stores but unless you are small in size or are shopping for kids clothes I don't think I would bother again.

Also went to Material Street. This is a row of material shops and what an eye opener it was, so cheap and so much and we found everything we were looking for. We got the store owners to cut samples and staple them with the prices to their business cards so that we would know what came from where and how much. We didn't actually buy anything as we left this up to the tailor to do, he probably made a little on the side as well then. This was the hottest, driest place I've ever been too, if you are going take water. We did not find that the people were hassling us, we were asked to buy perfume, watches and sunglasses but once we said no they were fine with us. At one point I left Lena to go inside a shop, I'd had enough of the heat and stuffiness and so stood outside talking to a couple of ladies, we had a gossip about the usual lack of tourist, husbands and how useless they are and of course our kids!!!!! Women the world over can gossip about those topics even when we don't speak the same language.

Makro was a quick stop off on the way to our drivers place for lunch. We picked up a 50kg bag of rice for him and the family and stocked up ready for our timeshare stay. I purchased some moisturiser, drinks, sweets, Pringles and toothpicks...love those paper wrapped toothpicks.

One sour note of the holiday was when I was shopping at a fixed price shop, opposite Green Garden Hotel. I have frequented this shop on previous trips and sent people to her shop; she gets good business from this forum and the many that visit her. When I went to her shop my eyes were heavily bruised and swollen and she asked what I had done. When I told her she asked how much and when I told her she was quite rude and said 'WHY YOU NO GIVE ME THE MONEY SO I CAN FEED MY FAMILY'. I was devastated, really hurt. My driver who I have known for only 2 and half years had also expressed an interest in the cost of this procedure but his reply was 'You deserve this, you work very hard etc. etc.' He was understanding and accepting in what I chose to do with my money. It's a shame because now I will never visit that shop for a chat and definitely will not spend my money there.
