the area where the bali hai is situated is great for kids i think.
the hotel is great and the steet out the front is relatively quiet and the vendors around there are very friendly.
if you want a driver for a day go out the front to the guys hanging around on the raised platform(probably asleep) and ask for mr lick. (wayan suriyadna) and he will speak good english and not rip you off or take anywhere you DON'T want to go.
just tell him the things you want to see and he will look after you very well!!
turn right and see mr wayan bendhi or his son putu at the SA Cafe for happy hour or for a great nasi goreng for lunch or dinner. Go a bit further to buy the kids an icecream at the little shop next door to the SA and see Ayu .(a lovely lady)
She can also help with those Bintangs nice and cold to take back to the hotel!.
Add to that within staggering distance is the Pantai,Ma jolly's and the Green garden Restaraunt and your holiday has started on a fantastic note!! Ohh ,roll on Feb.
