first used this on an inexpensive wood book case 40 years ago.
Stained it with a wipe on/wipe off stain
Rubbed in the kiwi
finished with elbow grease
sealed with a very light layer of beeswax polish.
It has never faded and I have never had to repeat the treatment. Grain shows - dust doesn't.
We purchased a Metal Buddha head years ago from the old lady who used to walk up and down Sanur beach. She was the mother of the people who owned the "craft" shop between Gazebo & Respati on the beach.
The treatment they used was purely Kiwi black. Gave the metal a lovely golden/black finish.
We used to watch them doing this treatment to wood or metal - on our walks - nowadays we see them playing chess. Times have changed

cheers
Juliette
