The wedding reception was in the evening. My girlfriends picked the flowers early in the morning and put some in water (floating) and some carefully in plastic bags in the fridge (it was February). This was a small wedding, so no florist!

At about 5 they went to the reception room and lay trails of frangipanis from the door to the table, lined with tea lights as well. Then on the tables there were frangapani flowers strewn about down the centre. By the end of the night some were closed up. Also there were several glass bowls of flowers floating in water, they stayed really fresh.

It was lovely. Well I thought so.

My husband is Indonesian and he thought it was bizarre having frangapani flowers as where he comes from frangapani trees are for graveyards!
