The original article was on the Bali Update website last week. It stated that they were going to be flying from Aus to Bali for under A$500. I doubt that this would be the same route that you are talking about. I can't see them flying Aus to Doha-KL-Dps.
If it is Aus-KL-Dps, then at A$500 I don't see that as a problem.
