We were in Candi last December and didn't have enough cash and the power went down (so we couldn't use our Visa card to pay for accom). We had to head to Amlapura(sp??) by Bemo and although this "wasted" half a day, we enjoyed the experience. All in all though take enough cash to cover you if travelling up the east coast. Due to lack of tourism the ATM's were no longer in use.
