If the visa applicant is applying for their visa and will be staying in hotels in Australia, or paying their way, then they must show that they have sufficient funds to support them here. Otherwise they may be tempted to work on a visitor's visa.
If an Australian citizen or resident will supply all their living needs (room and board), then this person needs to show a copy of their bank account and proof of citizenship or residency advising the immigration department that they will be responsible for all financial needs of the applicant.
If the applicant suddenly receives Rp10 million in their bank account, then this does look suspicious and they will probably not get a visa approved.
The sponsor does not require a Rp10 million equivalent balance, but does need to show regular deposits and withdrawals.
