I go to my friend Ade at Jl. Br. Taman No 97 Kerobokan (a bit up from Warisan Restaurant on opposite side). I love bringing back the hindu style canvas's but you have to search for the good ones. Rizqi always has some quality ones and if you buy a few should give you a good deal. Not a lot of small ones but they will paint to order. Look out for ones signed 'Hendy' or 'Redik' as these guys paint well. I get them rolled up but have checked some of the smaller ones with the frames. They will also do orders (they paint from pictures) so will reproduce whatever you want in whatever size.
The markets in Ubud have some great stuff also but Kuta shops only seem to only carry 'seconds'. Last trip also bought a couple of really well painted budda's in a small shop opposite Bestest Cafe in Jl. dhyana pura (although the street name has changed to something i forget) Seminyak. I didnt want to let you in to my painting purchase secrets but the guys need the business. Good luck.
