Hi, i bought my current nokia mobile here in Indonesia, and have had no problems of using it in Australia and using aussie SIM cards in it.
what you have to remember is, if you buy your phone here, you will have an Indonesian "plug/charger" which is the two prongs.. but you can easilly buy a cheap adaptor so it can plug into walls in Aussie...
also, you might not get an english instruction book for the phone, sometimes they have english/indonesian...but usually its just Indonesian...
Also if you buy, make sure it comes in a sealed box and watch them open it in front of you... otherwise you might be buying a dodgy, black market/stolen phone...
