Usually no problem with a holiday (tourist visitinfg) visa as long as all the documentation & financial aspects are ok.
(I have done this twice this year)
For him to be here long term you need to apply for a fiance or spouse visa.
This is much more involved both financially/paperwork etc and takes considerably longer to organise and to be granted.
There are other types of visa eg re working but most seem to do the tourist ones followed by the fiance or spouse.
Being already married makes little difference as the application/ process is the same for both spouse & fiance visas.
The dept requires evidence that your relationship is genuine & ongoing...and being married is not conclusive proof of that.

What you will need:
For them:
+ Need visa form from Australian consulate in Denpasar 48RIND (is written in Indonesian & English)
+ A valid passport & a photocopy
+ 1 current passport photo
+ The current processing fee (non refundable)
+ Evidence of employment with letter giving permission for time off from employer (if employed)& a photocopy
+ Identification card(KTP) & a photocopy
+ Family Card (Kartu Keluarga) & a photocopy.
+ Evidence/copy of their bank statement/account if possible
From You:
+A letter of invitation (and an itinerary is often a good idea)asking them to visit & that you will be responsible for all accommodation, meals, expenses etc.
+A copy of your passport
+Evidence of funds to support their time in Australia -ie bank statements for the last 3 months
What you/they then need to do:
+Fill in the form (you may assist in doing this)
+Take all originals & copies to consulate - you and/or they will need to show ID, hand over mobile phones, go through X-Ray and the "explosive wand test"
+Pay the fee & hand in the required forms.
+Answer any questions they pose at the time
+Wait 3-5 working days for the answer.
+Must travel within 3 months of issuance of visa.
+Be aware costs for the ticket, fiscal tax, departure tax etc.
Currently it is cheaper to purchase a ticket to Australia with Garuda, in Bali.
There is a Garuda office at the Kuta Paradiso Hotel in Jln Kartika Plaza tuban
Fiscal Tax is 1million rupiah per person
Departure Tax is 100000rp per person
