I have a wee tale of my waiting for bali but have always been afraid to put it on the forum incase of being attacked for it's unimportance...as I know it is trival. But what the hell...here goes - nothing else to do for the next one minute.. xxx
A shop-a-holic's balinese tale....
I can hear a faint thumping from my cupboard...
I have been able to hear this thumping for sometime now...faint but slowly getting louder - wanting to be noticed..thump.. thump...thump. I can feel it at the back of my neck. The pressure's building.
Ever since I had to cancel my last November's trip to Bali because of family pressure over the bombings, it's been stirring.
I had created this little treasure with love and with sooo much help from the BTF. Toiling over it day and night relentlessly with help from you all, especially filo, don ron, didi and mic. Waiting to unleash it once I got to the beautiful isle of smiles. But that did not happen.
Now it sits waiting patiently and quietly letting me know that it is still there - gently thumping. It has company - my wonderful 'koby' hat - bright purple and just enough information on it to totally confuse people and make them think - what is this goose wearing???
My chance to let my treasure out will come this April...it will beat stronger by then. Filled with more shopping information....the celebrated 'Martha Tiller' plus more....such little time, so much shopping.
I don't know if some of you have a friend like this.. thumping...constantly reminding you that you must go forth and shop.
Luckily in April I get in around 11pm...hopefully too tired to venture out to feed my treasure's insatiable hunger. But I know from my last experience - the first morning in Bali should be the start of unwinding...getting into Bali time. Trying to relax by the pool but do you find after about 10 minutes....all you can think about is filling out that shopping list ???
