we just returned from phuket and a very short stay (fortunately) in bangkok.
the balinese are definitely friendlier and ambitious than the thais and we found the food good, but not that much different in quality than bali. it varies, just as it does anywhere in the world i guess.
yes,the beaches are much nicer in thailand.
bali is volcanic after all so the sand just happens to be black.
quite a bit more expensive to eat, buy goodies and clothes in thailand and the worst part is the bloody burmese/nepalese tailors.
what pains in the proverbial they are.
bangkok,well, couldn't wait to get out of there!
