What is your budget? There is the Garuda Hotel which is located right on Jl Malioboro (the famed shopping street) however im not sure of the prices, Im sure it would be better to get there and try for walk in rates...there are lots of cheap hotels around the place..what time of year are you going?
Yogya can be busy at Xmas cuz there are a lot of javanese catholics there.. and you'll enjoy it anyway... lots of interesting places to visit.. if you need to some tips... i can help :) I was in Yogja last christmas (to celebrate with my partners family).... been there about 8 times...
