The nypei celebrations will be held on the night of the 18th that normally starts about 7.30pm and once that is finished and you go back to your hotel (dont leave your hotel after this), you will know when it has started when all the outside street lights and hotel lights will be turned off & the streets and hotel rooms should be extremly quite as these few days mean alot to the balinese, it will countinue right through the 19th and it ends midnight, so when you wake up on the 20th things are back to normally some shops still maybe closed as alot of families return to their villages.
