that doesn't require a casette tape. Most of the older tape style cameras suffer from friction on the recording head if there is too much humidity and most have a sensor to disable the camera if it is excessive. Given that, I used to take my Sony Hi8 regularly to Bali with no problems. The same with any camera, the optics will fog if you leave the camera in a cool airconditioned room and then wander outside into the heat and humidity. I found the best trick was to not have your airconditioning set too cold (temperature & fan speed). It helps if you leave your camera in your suitcase when not in use as it is not so effected there. What ever you do don't wrap your camera in a plastic bag - I've seen that destroy a camera with corrosion and mould in less than 1 week. Remember to let the camera 'breath' for 5 -10 minutes outside before shooting to let any condensation clear. Happy filming!
