Just back from Bali and missing it already! This was our 7th trip in the past 4 years. Things still slow and hard for Bali. On the issue of security we felt safe at all times in our trip. We noticed police doing car searches on some nights in various locations in Kuta/Legian. Good idea!
Restaurants
We had the best steak I've had in a long time at Rumours in Seminyak
Nice lunch w/salmon salad at Lucciola. Hardly anyone there!
Lunch at KuDeTa was pretty good but high priced. Slow too.
Had Italian one night at Fabios. Some of us raved/others not.
Friends took us out to this delightful little resort/restaurant in Canggu. I will try to remember the name for a later post. It is very close to the new Canggu Club. Very unforgettably nice dining experience. We had our own little bale in the middle of the garden. Seafood was good but i reccomend the snapper instead of the sea bass.
Passed on Poco Loco as it was completely empty every night we went by.
Shopping
We concentrated on buying everything from Denpasar markets for the most part. Lots of ceramics, paintings and handicrafts.
Also went to Centro for eyeglasses.
Got a great deal on a digital camera on Jalan Teukumar in Denpasar.
Relaxing
We went to our favourite spa, Melasti Beach Resort Spa, in Legian. We found ourselves going there every other day for the two weeks we were there. As always great service from very proffessional staff. Just walking in the front door took off levels of stress! Tried their new warm stone and Ayurveda treatments. Just thinking about them makes me wonder why we had to leave.Their e-mail is spabali@biz.net.id if you want their prices/menu.
Hotel
We stayed the whole two weeks at Melasti resort in Legian. Seems like the staff are almost family by now. Not the high end experience but very adequate and great base location for walking about.
All for now - will work on that restaurant name and post later
