Filo. We were last in Tenganan a couple of years ago. Komang showed us some calendars and explained about some of this, but I'd forgotten most of it.
I would certainly recommend a visit to Tenganan for anyone staying in the area. Some of what they have on offer isn't cheap, but some of it is also very special and, in some cases, possibly unique.
I think we did the right thing for ourselves by visiting with Komang and one of his mates on the back of their motorbikes, rather than go in unescorted and taking pot luck with the sellers. We were also guests in Komang's family home, met all the family, sat and had coffee and then Komang's mum showed us how she weaves the double ikat material sitting on the floor at a hand loom.
