The philosophy of sentencing for drugs vs other violent crimes is that the Indonesian authorities believe that drug crimes affect multitude of lives. Whereas a murder for instance will affect a significantly less number.
As a mum I applaud their hard stance on drug smuggling as for pedophiles well I think a few cuts on their skin, locked room and a starving dingo should be their sentence.
